Is that your real hair? How does she do it?
Okay. So growing your hair is as painful as wearing stiletto heels on a drunken night out, but there’s a few simple steps to follow. Gaining new length will take time as your hair typically grows about a quarter of an inch – to half an inch a month. You need to have a daily hair care routine and lots and lots of patience.
- Get that trim girl
It’s 6 weeks later from your previous cut and you need to go to your hair dresser for a trim. When you tell a hair dresser “trim” they always cut way more than they should, slow down sister!
A regular snip won’t make your hair grow faster but it will make it a lot healthier and less ratty on the ends. If you don’t get a trim then your hair will break off and will appear thinner than usual.

- Use conditioner
This is the bible. If your hair is wet, you need to condition it. Overtime from using hot tools, blow drying, dyeing and whatever else it is you do with your hair, conditioner helps replace the lipids and proteins inside the hair. It will also work as a shield to prevent even more damage.

- Invest in a good oil mask treatment
You need to give your hair some TLC for it to grow. Coconut oils, almond shampoos and jobaba oil is an absolutely MUST. You can start by making some time on the weekend – you don’t need to do this every day. Hair treatment masks are popular with celebrities (how else do you think they keep their hair smooth and shiny without their visits to the hair stylist).

- Brush your hair
“Dreams were made winding through her hair”. You should only use a de-tangler brush with hair extensions but DO NOT use it on your own hair. Instead OPT for a good rounded brush with soft bristles so it’s not too harsh on your scalp. Don’t constantly brush your hair – we recommend once to twice a day.

- Don’t wrap your hair in a towel
Never. Ever. Again. This causes so much breakage on your wet hair strands. The towel wraps tightly around your face and all those fragile cuticles around the towel are more prone to twist and break off. Dry your hair by patting your hair with a small towel and dry it straight away – on medium heat.

- Get some Jenica Hair Extensions
This is the best way to get longer, thicker hair and FAST. This is a temporary replacement so you don’t have to wait and obsess over your growing hair. Hair Extensions can be affordable if you find the right supplier. You must always ask what grade the hair extensions are and if they are lower than 9a grade hair it’s not completely human hair.

What to watch out for with cheap Hair Extensions
- Funny Smells
- Way too much shine
- If it tangles when you brush it
- It will melt when you use hot tools on it
- The hair sheds like a German Sheppard. Lol.
- It just won’t blend into your own hair
There’s a few other ways to help with your hair growth like a Healthy and Balanced Diet, lower your stress levels, hair supplements, less sunlight and drink lots of water.
